Our Paint Products and process for restorations: We use a PPG urethane paint process from start to finish and we use nothing but the finest materials. For exterior panels we start with clean media blasted metal, a required foundation for a quality repair. Followed by PPG's Auto Color 2 part acid etch primer, for the ultimate corrosion protection. Once this is accomplished, the panels are ready to be sealed with two coats of a non- sanding sealer. This is done to give a uniform surface, and barrier to prevent shrinkage of top coats down the road. Then, base coat color is applied with a catalyst to help prevent rock chips. More sanding of 600 to 1000, then it's ready for more base coat. Followed by 3 coats of high solid urethane clear coat. Once this is accomplished there is a curing time required before final color sanding with 1500 to 2000 grit. Finally, a three step polishing procedure for the ultimate show car finish. Chassis and under body panels can be dealt with in a similar process or we have some other options depending on the level and budget of the project. All work is guaranteed by RCW, and PPG stands behind all materials. |
Collision repair: If your collector car or daily driver should happen to fall to the misfortune of being involved in a collision, we can also take care of your needs. At RCW we have the finest frame measuring and straightening equipment. (Car-O-Liner) is a comprehensive unibody/frame machine designed and built in Europe. I have been trained and certified by the first importer into the US more than 25 years ago. Needless to say, I am pretty familiar with it. Working with insurance is an expertise I acquired working in the collision industry for many years. I'm very familiar with the procedures required for working with the insurance industry. Something not many Collector car specialty shops can attest too. |
